Description
Overview
GEObit introduces the GEOsix series, a high-resolution 6+1 analog seismic channels telemetry digitizer/recorder. Equipped with 32-bit ADC converters, it delivers effective resolution surpassing 23.7 bits at 100sps. The instrument boasts a compact size of 168x106x68mm, accompanied by a remarkably low power consumption of 1.2W for 7 channels. It offers a versatile range of sampling rates, from 1 to 2000sps for 6 channels, 1 to 4000sps for 3 channels, and optional support for 0.1 sps. The built-in GNSS receiver, coupled with an ultra-accurate DPLL unit ensuring a time drift of 10e-9 sec, guarantees timing stability even in the absence of a GPS signal. NTP timing is also available.
The unit’s flexibility is evident in its compatibility with various analog front-end units, allowing connection to different types of seismic sensors. Additionally, it provides eight extra low-resolution and rate analog inputs for monitoring seismometer mass position or other environmental parameters. Eight TTL command outputs support seismometer control or external device control. Typically, the digitizer supports a differential variable gain preamplifier. The force-balance sensor front end is supported, offering a wide-band response (10sec-98Hz) and high sensitivity of 1500V/m/s when connected to a C100 sensor.
Users can configure acquisition parameters and operation modes through a user-friendly web interface, password-protected with up to 64 characters. The unit operates in continuous mode, triggered mode, or both, with data streamed through different data ports. Users have the option to select local data storage and log file information. Advanced functionality is supported, leveraging trusted open-source software components. Its open-source architecture allows the unit to run custom applications, providing a next-day solution. The hardware is built on an embedded ARM9 400MHz ARM Linux board running the 14.6 Linux kernel. Data is stored in mini-SEED format on a microSD card or a removable USB stick. The instrument supports a 10/100 ethernet port and debug port, with additional features such as FTP, SFTP, SSH available. The state of health is transmitted via UDP packets upon request.
